More gorgeous wedding dresses from the latest bridal collections in part 4 of our New York Bridal Fashion Week report.
Maggie Sottero “Aracella” Bridal Collection
Our Saturday began with Maggie Sottero’s presentation at The Knot Couture Show @ Metropolitan Pavilion. The first presentation was of Maggie Sottero’s Aracella collection. The opening gown was a stunning strapless dress with an embellished waist and an ethereal overlay (pictured above). It was ball gown perfection (and I’ve seen a lot of ball gowns, mind you!). The rest of the collection was equally magical…
Sottero and Midgley “Monaco” Bridal Collection
There were embellished crop tops, detached sleeves and many more gorgeous creative treatments at the presentation of Sottero and Midgley “Monaco” collection, but what got the audience sighing is the closing gown (above) that featured a heavily embellished cap sleeve top and a skirt that seemed to float ethereally on the runway. Absolutely dreamy!
Yumi Katsura Fall 2016 “Golden Harvest” 50th Anniversary Collections
After that we were off to Yumi Katsura’s show at the Pier 94. The Fall 2016 “Golden Harvest” collections mark Yumi Katsura’s 50th year in the business. The presentation consisted of her bridal line and yuzen collection, which showcased designs using fabrics with Japanese –influenced motifs. It was dramatic elegance with a decidedly Japanese twist.
Julie Vino Fall 2016 “Santorini” Collection
With no time to lose, we made our way to Julie Vino’s Fall 2016 show. The collection is titled “Santorini” and it featured some of the most varied silhouettes in a bridal collection we’ve seen so far. The designs ran the gamut -- from casual free-spirited separates to princessy ball gowns to sheaths constructed purely of high-octane glamour -- dramatic, romantic, fantastic.
Pronovias Bridal Fall 2016 Collection
The Pronovias Fall 2016 show was a dream. The sheer elegance and romance of creative director Herve Moreau’s vision easily made this one of our favorite collections from the Spanish label to date. The closing gown was a true showstopper! It came with the longest train we’ve seen in any of the shows this season!
Eve of Milady & Amalia Carrara Fall 2016 Collections
Having only seen Eve of Milady and Amalia Carrara gowns in elaborately styled lookbooks online, we were pleasantly surprised to find that many of the gowns are superbly contemporary and chic in real life! Of course, the notion of romance is never once lost in these collections – there were enough fairy tale ball gowns and ruffle-skirted mermaids to make any diehard romantic brides happy!
