Val Stefani wedding dresses are known for their decadent beading, unique embroideries and glamorous vintage aesthetic, but the latest collection is quite simply the stuff of dreams. For their Fall 2016 offering, designers Valerie and Stephanie incorporated ultra-romantic and unexpected three-dimensional elements, making this their most uniquely feminine collection yet! So what else is new for Val Stefani? Our favorite SoCal-based designer sisters talk about their gorgeous new collection plus dish out some cool style tips for summer brides:
Wedding Inspirasi: Val Stefani’s Fall 2016 collection is sooo pretty! What was the inspiration behind the new designs?
Stephanie & Valerie Chin: We design gowns that complement the female form and were inspired by the rich detailing of Gothic architecture. We looked to create patterns and lines that mirrored the ornate detailing of that era.
Apart from the glamorous beaded bodices Val Stefani is known for, there are some absolutely breathtaking lace creations (like Mara, shown below) that would look great in a country-chic or vintage themed wedding. Let’s talk about this development.
We are always looking for new ways to incorporate different textures and fabrics to complement a bride’s figure and our focus was being able to combine different types of textures and materials like vintage inspired lace and ornate beading to create glamorous and statement dresses that compliment a bride’s shape.
Our styles like Mara and Vega (first image) was our way of adding unexpected depth with three dimensional detailing and subtle eye catching sparkling details by combining different layers with textures. They feature unexpected lace placement and layers that really gives these styles a rich vintage vibe.
What's your favorite ways to style a Val Stefani gown for summer?
Summer weather is the perfect time to incorporate more laid back style approach and incorporate natural elements into your wedding. Rustic braids can be the perfect accent for your wedding day hair. We also love when brides take advantage of summer time blooms like poppy’s, chamomile daisies, and orchids. You can really incorporate bold colors like orange, fuschia, or magenta that reflect the brightness of the season.
