“Namibia”, Rosa Clara 2017
Recently engaged and planning a wedding in 2017? We’ve compiled some of the biggest bridal trends to look out for when you’re going wedding dress shopping this year.
NECKLINES
When it comes to necklines, there are plenty of stylish options for both modest brides and those with a love for drama this year.
Plunging V-Necks
The neckline of the moment? The deep V-neckline, sometimes dipping all the way to the natural waist.

“Margot”, Sottero and Midgley Fall 2016
Jewel Neck and High Necklines
Not a fan of showing too much cleavage? Rejoice! The higher neckline is still a big trend this season (see 2016 trends)! The options this season range from elegant bateaus, modest scoops along with high lace ones like the ones shown here. New for 2017? Chic crew neck or jewel necklines that encircle the base of the neck.

BACKS
We can't get enough of bejeweled illusion backs and plunging, open backs framed by organic beading and laces in 2016. This year will see more striking cutouts and keyholes, and half illusion scoop backs.
The V-back Gown
The deep V also makes its appearance on the backs of many gowns of the 2017 bridal season.

Dramatic Keyholes
Another trend for backs? Showstopping keyholes. Backs get dramatic with double keyholes, lavish beaded frames and cutouts in novel shapes.

Rebecca Ingram's "Hope" gown features a stunning double keyhole back.

"Terri", Alon Livne White 2017
SLEEVES
Cap sleeves and long sleeves, which have been popular for the past few seasons, are seeing no sign of slowing. Bohemian influenced like self-tied bows with cold shoulder peeks, cutouts and draping were also seen in many collections.
Off Shoulder Illusion
Who can resist the elegance of an off-the-shoulder gown (we can't!). The 2017 version comes with an illusion twist or ruched wrap effect.

"Norway", Maggie Sottero Spring 2017

"Emilia", Crystal Design 2017
Short Sleeves
The half sleeve length (ends around the elbows) looks set to be the new 3/4 sleeve, while short sleeves (which we first highlighted in 2016) look totally fresh and chic in 2017, especially with crew necks.
