And we’re here to walk you through every single impossibly dreamy gown from the new collection. For a start, take a look at this angelic beauty right here…
Rêverie, Alon Livné White’s Spring 2020 bridal collection was inspired by one of Claude Debussy’s first piano solos of the same name. Livné’s creations echo the growing complexity of the musical work with gowns adorned with increasingly intricate textural interest. The collection starts off with light and minimalist dresses that are timelessly elegant, and progresses to more dynamic designs featuring heavier embellishments and fashion forward silhouettes.
Sheer, billowy sleeves are one of the striking features of this season’s designs, and, along with Alon Livné signatures of fine lace and soft cascading ruffles, underscore the romantic essence of “Rêverie”. Modern gowns with clean, striking cuts, another Livné White hallmark, are also represented here in a variety of silhouettes, from a sleek column dress (CAITLIN) to a captivating high-low A-line (ERICA). And some sweet news for glam brides? The 2020 offering also sees a measured return of Livné’s earlier dramatic glam, with two exquisite sheaths featuring all-over beading (GIA and HERA).
What’s interesting to note is that the campaign images for the Spring 2020 bridal collection also took its inspiration from Debussy’s work, and feature large statues that were designed by Livné himself. These abstract pieces mimic oversized musical instruments, providing a surreal backdrop for the ethereal wedding dresses. The result is a modern bridal fantasy come alive.
Alon Livné White Spring-Summer 2020 Collection: “Rêverie”
Alon Livné’s Spring-Summer 2020 collection was inspired by “Rêverie” (daydream in French), one of the first solo piano compositions of Claude Debussy from 1890. The piece, played on a grand-piano, starts with soft and comforting sounds that hint the start of a daydream, which inspired the clean and minimal designs in the collection. As the piece progresses and becomes rich with harmonies and creates an almost touchable texture of sounds, so does the collection with gowns made of exquisite lace designs, rich hand-beaded fabrics and intricate sewing techniques.
