I love these elegant wedding cakes from Chicago-based celebrity cake designer Cakegirls. Left : interesting dotted texture topped with bouquet of sugar flowers – my fav of the lot . Right: instead of an initial cake topper how about a sweet monogram on the cake itself. Very pretty!

Some asymmetrical organic designs. Brown and orange is an unusual choice for a wedding cake but it looks very attractive here. I love the dramatic branch of cherry blossom creeping up the tiers of the cake on the right below.

The last few weddings I attended had done away with the old “bride and groom wedding cake toppers”. How’s the trend up in your neck of the woods?
