Picks from Rachel Simpson’s vintage-inspired Ivory bridal shoes collection. Yay for pretty bows! I especially adore the one on the top right called Ophelia in ivory satin and lace. Maybe I have not gotten over my Marie Antoinette shoes obsession.

On the topic of shoes, baju kebaya and baju kurung are almost always matched with a pair of high heels, usually strappy sandals. So when friend of mine asked me if ballet flats would match these traditional Malay costumes, I didn’t have much reference points to base my suggestion on. I did tell her that if she wanna go flat, she could consider capal nyonya (Straits Chinese or Peranakan beaded sandals) as what the baju-baju were traditionally paired with. What do you think?: Kebaya with ballet flats? Yay or nay?
