We caught Elbeth Gillis on our bridal radar recently and naturally, we jumped at the chance to feature a new designer. Well, new to us, that is! Elbeth Gillis, renowned for her ethereal creations, is firmly established as one of South Africa’s most prominent wedding couture designers
The 2014 Elbeth Gillis bridal collection is inspired by the opulent glamour of yesteryear. Contrasting fabrics sourced from around the world, including Indian silks and lace from France and Spain, are used to define and highlight silhouettes. Contemporary details are the stars of this collection – tiny pearls, sparkling crystals and shadow lace-work adorns bodices, necklines and skirts, and sleeves feature meticulously hand-beaded embellishment. You can’t help but swoon over the gorgeousness of these timeless, elegant gowns with delicate detailing, each a celebration of sophisticated femininity. Oh, and the setting for the shoot is definitely reigniting our love for conservatory wedding venues!
