Medieval armor may seem like an unlikely inspiration for a bridal collection, but fashion forward brides take heart, these dresses by Della Giovanna are as wearable as they are edgy.
It was a trip through the medieval towns of Germany that inspired designer Michelle Della Giovanna to add gold chainmail detailing to her unconventional 2015 bridal collection: “I was always fascinated by the intricate weaving of the rings in medieval chainmail,” said Ms. Della Giovanna. “For this collection, I wanted to take something that we traditionally think of as being masculine and shapeless and make it fitted and feminine.”
The 2015 Della Giovanna collection includes a varied range of separates, from an elegant tea length ball gown skirt to a white leather harness. The tops and skirts can be mixed and matched, giving each bride a chance to create unique customized looks both for the ceremony and the reception.
