Whether light and dreamy or bold and vibrant, watercolor details are something we’ve always loved. Today’s inspiration board is painted in soft, cool colors, suitable for romantic weddings.
Watercolor Wedding Inspiration Board
Blue, lavender, fuchsia, red, AND pink sounds like a lot of colors in one palette, but as soft, transparent washes of color, they all come together beautifully. For Spring and Summer weddings, take a leaf out of nature’s book and incorporate the use of brilliant floral designs and pastel colors. For the board above, we used Soft Bougainvillea as a reference point for the painterly floral details:
Infusing Watercolor Details into Your Wedding
For an elegant look, pick a side — warm or cool — for your watercolor detail, then tie the look together by adding a solid color as a base. In our inspiration board, we used the cobalt blue from Deep Romance.
Blooming Together, shown below, is a beautiful example of a vibrant watercolor design using warm tones:
For casual wedding affairs, you can have a bit of fun and mix it up. Aqua and sea foam green are reminiscent of the sky or the sea and are great for outdoors/beach weddings. When paired with warmer colors, the effect is light and whimsical:
