In 1997, Leila Hafzi launched Norway’s first sustainable high-end fashion house. Since then the label has been producing ethical and eco-conscious designs that have won accolades and respect from the industry, and cheers on the red carpet. Leila Hafzi’s bridal range, “Royaye Sefid” (Bright Dreams), is a line of wedding dresses and evening gowns created in collaboration with Nepalese artisans. The 2016 “Asha” collection features ethereal designs in hand-made silk lace, embroidered silk and beaded details.
“The inspiration for the Royaye Sefid VI collection comes from the floating moods of wind and ocean. The moods of the natural elements has interpreted through the intricate handwork of the artisans embroidery in Kathmandu, Nepal. The signature palette of soft colours incude pure white, crème. As with all Royaye Sefid collections, the gowns and styles are available in soft hues of champagne and rose hint as well as a variety of brighter colours for Red Carpet and other special events.”
This collection traveled with the designer home to Norway only hours before the earthquake catastrophe in Nepal. As a tribute, the collection name, as well as many of the gowns, were given Nepali names, e.g. Asha for hope, and Sahasa for the courage of the Nepali people.
