With their crisp lines and exquisitely embroidered detailing, Julie Vino’s Fall 2016 wedding dresses will look at home in any romantic island ceremony. Which is just as well. “Santorini” is the name of Julie Vino’s latest collection and it certainly stirred the wanderlust in us. Romance come in every possible flavor in this collection – a mesh and lace number channels bohemian insouciance with a touch of glamor; another gown, “Diane”, features a soft, flowing tulle skirt (very princess-like), and yet another look, “Brooke”, features all over beading with a sophisticated, vintage feel.
The final look at Julie Vino’s Fall 2016 runway presentation at New York Bridal Week was as unexpected as closing gowns come (and almost the polar opposite of the dramatic opening wedding dress, “Garmai”, pictured above), yet it perfectly captured the spirit of the collection. Consisting of a strapless crop top, an off-the-shoulder cape and a satin A-line skirt detailed with gold, it evoked the image of a free-spirited bride on her destination wedding, with nary a care in the world.
