It was a Midsummer Night’s Dream with a modern, sultry twist at Tony Ward’s 2017 bridal presentation at Kleinfeld Bridal. The Tony Ward for Kleinfeld 2017 collection features dreamy, ethereal looks inspired by and named after the characters of one of The Bard’s popular plays, an invitation to enter the world of imaginary tales as seen through the eyes of the designer:
“Tony Ward held his first ever Runway Show in New York for his Bridal Ready to Wear collection on April 18th at Kleinfeld Bridal in Manhattan, the largest luxury bridal retailer in the world and set of the famous “Say Yes to the Dress” TV Show. The showcased collection represents the mythical romance of a Bridal Maiden, a romantic voyage through a dark forest. A Bride’s journey leading up to her wedding day, where sexy sheaths and soft A-lines, silk embroideries and geometric patterns adorned with crystal foliage depict an ethereal, romantic woman: Shakespeare’s “Hermia”. In this collection, off white flower appliqués and embroidered lace on dreamy ball gowns create sensational, royal silhouettes. A meticulous play with the boundaries of light and transparency are interpreted into fairy-like personas; flowy capes, overskirts and embroidered bodices give for classical yet unconventional wedding looks. ”
