When she isn’t busy creating chic wedding gowns, designer Carol Hannah Whitfield draws verbenas, forsythias and azaleas with abandon. The result? An imaginative interpretation of wedding dresses as flowers for her latest bridal collection. Carol Hannah’s 2017 collection features fresh, botanical inspired looks, ranging from relaxed pieces with clean lines and unconventional draping, to romantic gowns executed in macrame lace and cloqué, exclusively woven for the brand in Europe. Standouts this season include Anthorium (shown above and below), which features a print of Carol’s whimsical, floral sketches, and Valeriana, a fit and flare gown with architectural seaming.
“Rooted in floral inspiration, the 2017 Carol Hannah collection takes the perspective of the gowns as flowers themselves. Interchangeable layers aspire to petals, opaqueness unfurls to transparency, and we collectively stretch towards the warmth of the sun.”
