A Blush of Light is Beauté Comme Toi’s gorgeous interpretation of the aesthetic of Art Nouveau, the design movement that flourished at the turn of the twentieth century. Popular throughout Europe and the United States in the last decade of the 1800s and early 1900s, this distinctive art style has touched everything from architecture to décor and fashion with its fluid curves inspired by nature, delicate structure and dreamy lightness, moving away from the pomp and extravagance associated with the Victorian era that preceded it.
Beauté Comme Toi designer Jane Yule captures the essence of Art Nouveau’s movement and lightness using fabrics with a weightless, ethereal quality. Iridescent laser gauze, glistening satin and translucent tulle are widely used here, a departure from the selections of the previous season.
