Japanese designer Yumi Katsura celebrated her 50th years in fashion with a runway show filled with her signature dramatic looks. We had the honor of attending the Fall 2016 Golden Harvest presentation in New York last month, and were treated a drama-infused pomp with lots of unique, romantic touches. Two collections were presented at New York Bridal Week: a wedding dress collection in shades of white; and a yuzen collection featuring gowns in vivid colors, using printed silks and other luxurious fabrics. Yumi Katsura’s wedding gowns feature exquisite beading, delicate butterfly appliques, and structural knots and folds, and, fitting the occasion, were paired with lavish gold accessories.
